The Ministry of John L. Smith
P. O. Box 9
226 West Main
Marlow, OK January 2003 Three hundred thousand people a year leave their churches to become Mormon. They call it proselyting. I call it sheep stealing!
Their proselyting methods are horrendous. It is as though they stand back and see you succeed in getting a family to attend your church and then they rush in persuade your people, whom you've enlisted, to leave your church and become Mormon's.
Now if what they offer was superior that would be one thing, but slyly entice your people to become Mormons is wrong.
Now Mormonism claims to be the only true church. It professes to have a prophet, to have a new book of scripture, to offer what no other church does, baptism for the dead and marriage for eternity, godhood, the whole gammit.
Yet, its reasoning and claims are really despicable! The Book of Mormon is a jumbled up effort to appear what it is not.
It claims to be a new book of scripture, but its a hodgepodge of names; Lehi, Nephi, Mosiah, 3rd Nephi and 4th Nephi - but in one place there are 13 chapters supposedly translated in 559-545 BC but in fact it is an almost word for word copy from the King James Version of the Bible, which was not translated until 1611, 2,000 years later.
Check 2nd Nephi 12 - 24 with your King James Isaiah 2 14. Check Mahershalalbashbazbaz (2nd Nephi 18:1) with your King James Bible chapter 8:1.
The Book of Mormon does not teach Mormon doctrine! In fact, I can refute practically every Mormon doctrine with it!
Mormons say God, Christ and the Holy Spirit and Holy Ghost are in reality four different gods, each capable of being at just one place at a time.
Christian's teach that God, Christ and the Holy Ghost, or Holy Spirit, each are capable of omnipresence.
Mormons say that God has not always been God, but the Book of Mormon, Moroni 8:18 says that God is 'unchangeable from all eternity to all eternity.'
Mormons say that God did not create anything. He found it already here. Mormon 9:9 - 11 says He has always been God.
Therefore, you see, the Mormon theology is all mixed up. They are a pathetic bunch of people claiming to be prophets but in no way compared to the great God and prophets of the Bible.
The Book of Mormon has had over 4,000 word changes in it, the last in 1981. Its claims are really pathetic.
Mormons say that God and Christ are separate, but the Book of Mormon says; I am the Father and the Son (Ether 3:14).
The Book of Mormon says that he is unchangeable from all eternity to all eternity! (Moroni 8:18).
The book is really a pathetic jumble. One could almost prove or disprove anything that he chooses from its pages. |
